Burt's Texas Garden: This week we will have Onions (getting low so get them while you can), Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Cocozelle Squash, Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Patty Pan Squash, TOMATOES, Peppers, Basil, Beets (with tops), Okra, and another big Pumpkin (yeah, this one was a surprise to us too!). In addition, we'll have Dill Pickles, Bread & Butter Pickles, Pickled Beets, Chow Chow, and Jalapeno Jelly. Also, be sure to try Stephanie's newest creation...dried Veggie Chips...a healthy alternative to potato chips, and they go great with Laverne's salsa! The heat is really starting to get to the plants...so come to the market and get your veggies while they last! :) WIC vouchers accepted

Munkebo Farm: parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, oregano, basil, onions, potatoes, shallots, buttermilk pie & cinnamon buns. WIC vouchers accepted

Laverne's Vegetable Patch: This week I will have tomatoes (large and cherry) okra, butternut squash, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, salsa and eggs.
Colmar Farm: I will bring eggs, fresh beans, onions, herbs, potatoes, tomatoes, cucks, cookies and canned goods

Wendish Heritage Society Noodles: Started by Ray's mother (aka the noodle lady) some sixty years ago. Home made noodles made the way mama used to make them.Tamales: Green Chili Turkey, Red Chili Pork, and Chicken with vegetable. Perfect with Laverne's salsa.

Richardson Farms: All natural, grass fed, humanely raised beef, pork & poultry. Steaks, chops, ribs, ground meats, stew and chili meat, many varieties of sausages. Hams by pre order only $5/#. Kay is taking orders for holiday turkeys. Two hundred gobblers were delivered to their farm. In addition, we'll have, Bread & Butter Pickles, Pickled Beets, Chow Chow, Jalapeno Jelly, and Fresh Eggs.

Munkebo Farm: parsley, leeks, oregano, chard, onions, lemon pies, apple pies, chicken pies, homemade bread, Italian torrone nougat, pecan pralines, lemon curd and lemonade. Laverne's Vegetable Patch:This week for the market I will have salsa, eggs, yellow squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, cucumbers and plums. Colmar Farm: Beans, onions, herbs, cookies to die for, tomato/lemon preserves, hamburger relish, apricot/ jalepeno jelly
To look forward to a little later in the season: spaghetti squash, cantaloupes, watermelons, southern peas and of course TOMATOES! Also, the season's first batch of dill pickles will be ready next week (June 10th)! CORN HAS ARRIVED

Squash, Squash, Squash 'tis the season of squash. It won't last. By the time you think you can't eat one more bite it will be out of season. Here are some tips on what to do with left over cooked squash. One of my little ladies told me to just add an egg and some flour to the leftover squash and cook it up in some bacon grease like a pancake. Well, I took it a little further. Make up a batter, like a fritter batter or pancake batter, and try the following add ins:

Pumpkin Pie Spices-clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, then top it with Manor Honey for breakfast. Roasted pecans are good in this one.

Add Italian seasoning and top with a marinara or chopped tomatoes and basil.

Put in chopped parlsey, onion and a little nutmeg and serve with applesauce like latka or potato pancake

Top with grated cheese, I like parmesan or a sharp cheddar

Use your imagination, left over ham or corn or....
