19th Annual Manor Lions Fest this Friday through Saturday

BBQ Cook-Off, Bake-Off, Two Frozen T-Shirt Contests, Antique Car Show, 50 Vendors, Local Artisans, Spinning Wheel Demonstrations, Parade 10AM Sat., Childrens Area including a petting zoo, pony rides, lots of kids games and a train, all day Saturday, Live Charity Auction by Rupert Ceder Sat. afternoon.

The Manor Lions Club has been serving the community of Manor Texas since 1954. We raise money for Lions scholarships, support the Lions Eye Bank of Central Texas, run Manor Lions Fest, hold bi-monthly fish frys at the Lions Club and run one of the few surviving Turkey Shoots in central Texas every fall.

Burt's Texas Garden: The fall garden is really looking good thanks to the recent rain. Lots of new plants in the ground, and pretty blooms everywhere! This week we will have Yellow Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Turnip Greens, Okra, Swiss Chard, Toscana Kale, and Peppers. In addition, we'll have Dill Pickles, Pickled Beets, Chow Chow, and Farm Fresh Eggs. Temporarily out of B&B pickles.

Laverne's Vegetable Patch: I will have eggs, salsa and YELLOW SQUASH. Little cukes are on my vines - maybe in a week or so.

Kay Richardson may not be able to make it to the market with all her truly pasture raised beef, pork and poultry. If you need to know for sure send me an email in the morning and I'll let you know as soon as I know. You may order in advance at jrdvm72@aol.com

Munkebo Farm: I will have garlic, cactus fruit, lambsquarter herb, basil, sweet potato pie, apple pie, bread, walnut/basil pesto and blue cheese salad dressing.
May be hard for the farmers to get out into the fields while wet. Vegetables are tentative dependent on the weather.
