The ERCC Garden Party Project will have regularly scheduled work days on the first Saturday of the month, beginning April 3rd. At each work day we will have a topical demonstration at 9:00 a.m. and then on to the project(s) for the rest of the morning.
On April 3rd we'll be building one or two 3'x3' Salad Gardens on legs which will be used by seniors with limited mobility. These will be chair height so gardening can be done from a seated position. Future topics include compost bins from pallets (two underway now), compost tea makers, vermiculture, hypertufa construction techniques, key-way round gardens (a permaculture concept), herb spirals, purple martin houses from gourds, rainwater harvesting and maybe more, depending on interest.
